U-SURGAR

Augmented Reality for Myomectomy

Up to 70% of women develop uterine fibroids1, often without symptoms. For those affected by pain, heavy bleeding, or infertility, laparoscopic myomectomy is the preferred treatment. U-SURGAR™ revolutionizes this approach by using augmented reality to visualize critical uterine structures in real-time.

Gynecologic Surgeon Dr. Olivier Donnez

from ELSAN Polyclinique Urbain V in Avignon, discusses the benefits of SURGAR for his practice and patient care.

U-SURGAR™ in 3 Steps

Preoperative 3D Model

Patient-specific uterine anatomy reconstructed from CT/MRI for precise surgical planning.

Fusion with Laparoscopic View

3D model overlaid onto live laparoscopic video for enhanced spatial orientation.

Real-Time Augmented Reality

Dynamic tracking of internal structures through to resection, precision when it matters most.

User testimonials

Dr. Olivier Donnez

ELSAN Polyclinique Urbain V (Avignon, France)

With SURGAR’s device, I see exactly where the fibroids and sensitive structures are, allowing me to mark the incision with confidence before resection. I'm faster and more precise to preserve healthy tissue, which is critical when fertility is at stake.

Dr Pauline Chauvet

Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital (Clermont-Ferrand, France)

With real-time visualization, I can focus entirely on the surgical decision-making—not on constant orientation or guesswork.

Indications for Use
U-SURGAR™ device is indicated for intrauterine myomas (FIGO 2, 3, 4, and 5) and adenomyomas in adult patients (ages 18-84) who can undergo preoperative MRI imaging and laparoscopic surgery. It is suitable for one or multiple myomas and adenomyomas measuring up to 8 cm.

U-SURGAR™ Software Suite:

  • SURGAR-Plan is used to create 3D preoperative models of the uterus, uterine cavity, intra-uterine myomas and/or adenomyomas from segmented MRI DICOM images on a standard computer.
  • U-SURGAR is used to generate the augmented reality display of the uterus, uterine cavity, intra-uterine myomas and/or adenomyomas, segmented by SURGAR-Plan, during the minimally invasive surgery on a computerized platform.

U-SURGAR™ Hardware:

SURGAR-Platform is a medical device accessory intended to be used to make the video stream of the camera used during surgery available to augmented reality software. SURGAR- Platform also allows to interact and display the software interface.

U-SURGAR™ safety has been demonstrated through a clinical trial registered on ClinicalTrials.gov (ID: NCT06067971).

U-SURGAR™ is a CE-marked medical device. It is not currently FDA-cleared for use in the United States.
